From the desk of Edwin Barclay...

Dave Allen has announced that he is retiring from B&DTA Inc. and WTCA at the end of the year and he will be extremely hard to replace. We have been privileged to have Dave as the B&DTA Inc. Secretary for many years and his last big project is to try and have the 7 courts at Bulli re-surfaced. Dave has been the WTCA Secretary and has contributed to the facilities in Wollongong and Bulli Tennis Districts with an unending passion to give local tennis players a first class place to play the game. He has also been the janitor and curator at Bulli and Thirroul courts. Dave has always had a passion for the officiating refereeing and he is going to pursue that with TA and Tennis NSW. I wish him well in his new career.

Judy Randall retires as Treasurer of B&DTA Inc. Thankyou Judy for your long and faithful service to B&DTA Inc.

TWO BIG GUNS who play at Bulli Tennis Centre.

Blake Mott: World Series Ranking.

At long last Tennis Australia seems to be keen to help Blake reach his potential. Blake now has ab ATP point and a World Ranking. Not too bad for a fifteen year old in the Men's tennsi scene. He has been in Europe with his dad for most of this year and will be going back in the New Year. You may have seen Blake and his father Terry around the courts lately. Blake has been hitting with Lleyton Hewitt this week and is looking forward to the upcoming tennis in Melbourne in December and January. Blake and his dad visited countless places overseas but alas only to hit tennis balls with no time for sightseeing. My involvement with Blake goes back to when I coached his dad Terry.

Stephanie Bengson: World Singles and Doubles Ranking .

Stephanie Bengson who hails from Albion Park has been a regular at Bulli Tennis Centre this year and is at present playing the Pro Tour $25,000 events around Australia. Steph was the Community Tennis Officer for Tennsi NSW until she decided to try the Pro Tennis Circuit before she was too old. Steph now has a World Ranking in singles and doubles. She is currently number 25 in Australian rankings, down from the four hundreds when she began her journey on the tennis circuit. If you get a chance to see her in action at the courts it might encourage you or your child to try as hard as Steph does. It has been my privilege to help Steph as she climbs the tennis ladder. For those old timers reading this, note, I coached her Uncle, Grant Denton. Just recently Steph and her doubles partner Tyra Calderwall have won two doubles titles in the $25,000 Tournaments but alas their prizemoney was only around $500.

A few little Guns to watch:

Jordan Gregson (loves a challenge, but 69 push ups!!), Carley Spinks (look at the new outfits), Shion Watabe (watch out Keith), Kyle Smith (hold that racquet) and Noah Bailey (what a smile as he tubes the coach). Plus all the other keen tennis players we at the moment at Bulli...

Luke Murphy, please let Luke know how you are going in your morning comps and don't forget to thank him for what he does to help your tennis. The Saturday Morning Group really enjoy their time with Luke.

Jarrod Egbers, who runs the Monday Night Singles is also an awesome golfer, but as an errand boy sometimes the milk gets forgotten or it comes back as cream. Maybe next time he will bring a cow for me to milk, which I might add I could.

Keenest Players in Bullil by a country mile: Yes, Angus and Glen.

Mr Snakeman and Handyman: Warwick Spinks.

Watch what you do or say as you could feature next time, in the news of Bulli Tennis Centre.

From Mr B.
