Saturday Morning Junior Competitions

Note..
BDTA have two options for Junior players in Saturday Morning Competition:
1) A local Beginners competition, which runs each school term for basic level players and is confined to the Northern Suburbs. This competition generally only has 2 divisions, and caters for players just starting out in competition.
2) A larger 'Combined Association' competition run in conjunction with Tennis Wollongong that runs for the whole summer, and then again in the Winter. This is for players that have progressed passed the beginners competition standard..This competition has around 10+ divisions and allows junior players to compete from a basic level up to advanced.

When..
Saturday Mornings, 2 time slots, from 8:30am till 10:30am and 10:30am till 12:30pm. (ie you can nominate what time you want to play your home matches (ie either 8.30 or 10.30), but when playing away you will play at the time designated by your opposition).

Where..
When entering, you will be placed in a team representing one of the Tennis Clubs within the B&DTA. (eg Bulli, Corrimal, Thirroul, etc) Your home matches will be at your entered club and you will be required to travel when playing against teams from other clubs.

Teams..
The teams are made up of 2 players per weekend. These players can be either male or female. Each team should consist of extra players so that each player is not required to play each and every week and can take a weekend off when required.

Playing Standard..
Initially when starting competition, players will start in the 'Beginners' Divisions, and most of their matches will be within Bulli & District (ie Wollongong's Northern suburbs). Once they progress pass the beginners stage, they can enter the 'Combined Association Competition. This involves teams from all over the Illawarra and has over 10+ divisions that cater for junior players up to A grade standard.

Playing Format..
In General, each player will play both Singles and Doubles matches within the two hour time-slot. The format varies slightly for each division and for each competition. What if I am not in a team?..
Most people playing in this competition don't enter as a team initially. By registering your interest through your local club (or through this web site), you will be placed in a team comparable to your ability and location.

Entry Fees are included in the Membership/Registration costs.
